If you have been to a theatre recently, you may have noticed that there are many more IMAX theatres or screens available now than previously. Why are there so many now, when there were only a few IMAX Theatre Locations only one or two years ago? The answer is that the imax corp has decided to expand what it defines as an imax experience, so that now a lot of existing large format screens can also be called imax screens. These new imax theaters are all digital and have high quality projectors, so the experience is still definitely better than the previous theaters they replaced.
