The compliance assistant identifies functions and business practices requiring compliance activities and assists the compliance officer. He designs, develops, implements, and evaluates the compliance program and monitors its implementation. The compliance assistant revises the compliance program in response to the changing needs of the organization, laws, and governmental policies. The compliance assistant plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the compliance plan and the related activities to ensure they promote an institutional culture favorable to compliance. The compliance assistant may have to help his boss to coordinate with other organizational functions such as human resources, legal affairs, and others, educational and training programs focusing on the elements of the compliance program to ensure that the whole staff is knowledgeable of and comply with applicable federal, state, and industry standards. The compliance assistant is required to have a bachelor’s degree and about 2-3 years of experience in the legal field dealing with regulatory laws and standards.
