First of all remove the handle or handles as the case may be. Then disassemble the faucet to drain it of all water. Get a sketch of the inner parts of the faucet from the supplier. You can get it by fax or online. Best thing would be to use a repair kit and follow the directions given in it very carefully.  If needed take some help from the local plumber. The disassembling must be done carefully with the parts placed in the order they were removed. That will help you in reassembling them easily. After repairing the bathtub faucet put the faucet at the on position and slowly open both shut off valves. Switch off the faucet when the water flows without air.
