Calcium and magnesium are both essential for the healthy development of strong bone, the prevention of osteoporosis and some forms of arthritis.  Magnesium is also essential for the proper absorption of calcium into your bone tissue from the blood. This is just many of the wonders of the human body, in which symbiosis is rife and it is essential to maintain an adequate intake of symbiotically related vitamins and minerals.

Calcium and magnesium is one such pair. One is sends calcium to the bones and the other to the soft tissues, mainly muscles.  Since calcium is needed in each, you need both working in concert to get the balance right. An imbalance of either can cause either muscle cramps and other problems or osteoporosis and arthritis. In fact a magnesium deficiency can also cause some forms of arthritis.

A balanced supplement is one good way of maintaining a good balance, and although a good balanced diet is a better solution, many people do not achieve that today.  Look for good quality magnesium and calcium supplements at your local or internet health food store.
