When I was younger, one of my first jobs was working for an estate auction company. My work for the most part was relegated to cleaning various pieces of furniture, glassware, stemware, etc.; which at the time seemed rather monotonous at best. What I didn’t realize, however, was that while I worked all the questions I asked paved the way for quite an education in antiques and other home amenities. One auction in particular stood out because the homeowner had been a large collector of Antique Carriage Clocks and when I saw them was amazed at their beauty and function. They were so valuable, I remember, that someone else was charged their care.
